about

“Diversity may be the hardest thing for a society to live with, and perhaps the most dangerous thing for a society to be without.”               William Sloane Coffin Jr.

I am an Interculturalist offering services to individuals, businesses, organizations and academic institutions. My professional range spans from intercultural competence and diversity training, to tuition in intercultural communication and mediation, as well as intercultural conflict management.

My intercultural background comes from personal and professional experience of living in seven countries and speaking six languages. This has provided me with the understanding of the kinds of issues that can arise within culturally diverse environments and what to be aware of during interactions in a globalized world.

My postgraduate qualification as an MA in Intercultural Studies gave me the academic foundation which enables me to better analyze and contextualize these intercultural experiences, and apply this knowledge in my professional practice of facilitating understanding and intercultural learning processes. Furthermore, I am accredited as a mediator by the School of Psychotherapy and Counseling Psychology at Regent’s University in London.

With an original background and extensive experience in communication design and localization, I am aware of the potential of creativity to induce thinking outside the box and help general problem-solving. This can also be applied to effective intercultural understanding ,and positively experienced diversity. Creativity is furthered by openness to the unknown and the foreign, and a welcoming of the apparently strange and ambiguous – both being essential to confronting obstacles as well as successfully navigating across cultures. Creative tools accompany the intercultural learning journey, thus helping to explore one’s self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and recognizing the diverse worldviews of others.

I have worked for companies and private clients internationally, as well as for several European educational institutions.

In 2014, I was appointed as a member of the European Cultural Parliament.
